My mom and I are working on a site for that market as we speak.  Launches Oct 1.

The modern diet is a killer.  We're going to get to 50% within a decade.

Yeah, there's lots of evidence that keto is very good for type II.  I think the current official guidelines are more about what people are willing to do than what is most beneficial.  My dad's type II has now progressed to insulin injections.  I've tried to get him to go low carb and to give intermittent fasting a shot, but it is a lost cause.  I knew a guy who smoked through a tracheostomy tube, he's about the same with food at this point.

Sadly, very few people have the self discipline to permanently change their diet. Diabetes is a giant drag on the healthcare system, economy, etc... and it's mostly preventable/reversible.

With the keto diet, your body converts fat, instead of sugar, into energy. The diet was created in 1924 as a treatment for epilepsy, but the effects of this eating pattern are also being studied for type 2 diabetes. The ketogenic diet may improve blood glucose (sugar) levels while also reducing the need for insulin.

Just had a recent checkup. Fasting glucose numbers range 200-350 means diabetic.

My score? 199

Doc: You're within range/spec, no problems.
