Hhhh.  Don't feel bad.  It's almost like that around Chicago during the first snow every winter.  It's always like everyone has forgotten how to drive in snow.  On the second snow most have their act together.

Had about 5 inches of powdery snow here last night. Rain first, while below freezing, so there's ice under it.  Hoo boy!

Same road in Raleigh last night.  About 1.5 inches.

'I'm here in Raleigh. Today I saw a woman shoveling her driveway with a rake. A rake.'

This made me laugh a little to hard  ;D

If it's any consolation, this is exactly what happens in Yosemite too

Quote
There are accidents everywhere and people are abandoning their cars on the side of and even IN the road.

Of course, here it takes 2.5 feet, not 2.5 inches, but same issue. Half the cars abandoned IN the road here are because people have shovels, but not conscience. Last storm, someone parked across the deadend road about half a mile from the end of said road perpendicular to the direction of traffic, the car facing the driveway and two feet away from it. 30 minutes with a shovel would have resulted in an open road that the plow could have driven down. But no. Driver was tired. Went to bed. Left the car until morning.
