This is basically why I didn't take many philosophy courses in college. I had thought I would, because I thought there one would find big answers. Then I took a couple and realized that there one found round and round thinking with unsatisfying "outs" for various problems.
I think, therefore I am. Or perhaps, I think, therefore I am a subroutine in a simulated reality. And as LM says, what difference does it make? If starvation will be unpleasant, does it matter whether it's a simulation?
