Good read. This is the upside of inflation - a main driver of inflation is wages and that 25% increase to get housekeepers willing to show up is going to be hard to roll back.

I've been traveling.  The motel is short staffed.  Applicants don't even show up for interview appt.

Every restaurant, fast food joint, truck stop and gas station I saw on the highways had 'Now Hiring' signs up.  BK and McDonalds had recruiting posters plastered inside extolling the career opportunities with them.  One BK, not on an Interstate Hwy, only had the drive thru open, w/ sign on the door saying they didn't have enough staff to reopen the dining room.

Nobody is wearing a mask either.

The company I worked for has a hotel as the bottom 5 floors of their central offices and it tends to be a place they test ideas. In 2017 they installed the robot butler
