"As Axios notes, there’s one proposal that isn’t on the table: actually breaking up big tech companies. And a Republican-controlled Congress doesn’t seem likely to act on them in the near future; Republicans have talked about regulating tech companies, but Warner’s proposals skew toward Democratic concerns. It’s more plausible that we’d see government agencies adopt some elements of the proposals independently or for some of the proposed rules to pop up as bills in individual state legislatures."

Google consumes one-third of our digital minds
and Google Analytics, AdSense, Chrome, Android, etc. tracking you elsewhere for more refined ad targeting.

you can't have location services turned on for any mobile app on Android without turning on pervasive Google tracking. and even when location services were turned off some phones were still sending location data back to the borg until they got called out on it by privacy researchers. they claimed they were doing it for targeting messages at cell towers, but that was a bald lie because third party cell networks don't let the OS determine which cells towers to use because they have to determine the best tower to use based on all sorts of factors including user location, movement, interference, balancing their load across the network, etc.
