Now that looks like fun!

Rumbas

AWESOME! I love riding a dirt bike - though it's been 20 years since I tried it. You ready to repair that sucker over and over again? ;-)

Do I dare ask how much a bike like that costs in Redneck $?

Drastic

hehe, yeah I'm ready, just had a garage built last summer to house/repair my toys.

Got it for $2500, which is a great price especially in its condition. It's an '08 model with probably 20 hours on it.

The shocker was another grand for all the gear to go with it.

Love it! I haven't been on one of those since I broke my leg in 3 places:)

Try to keep the shiny side up!!

Nice!  I use to love dirt-bike riding.  Like Rumbas, it's been a very long time for me.    I use to have an old Honda cr250 Elsinore which had plenty of power, but a really primitive suspension.

Yeow! Were you racing mx?

I'm not really interested in the huge mx jumps (prefer good health to this), currently running my friends' track which has one big tabletop jump and mostly flat. Hoping to go trail riding soon.

No, nothing fancy. On a dirt trail I had been riding for years. Came around the corner a little hot and looked up to see a tree across the trail that had blown over.  I locked up both wheels in pine needles and slid until I gave it up and tried to bail.  I didnt get out from under it in time, toe hit the ground, bike hit my heel twisting it until it snapped.

I caught a ride home on the back of horse. Not on a saddle either, bareback on it's a##, so that I felt the rise and fall every step, boot pulling down on my foot the whole time. Sucked but it happens:) Wear your gear every time no matter how hot it is.  Nice neckbrace, BTW.  I even wear one on my street bike. Every time.

Take risks but take precaution... and ride it like you stole it;)

Drastic

Man that was a nasty one.

I hear you on the gear.  I bought the best helmet and neck brace in the shop. I went cheap on the boots so I could get a bit more feel on the shifter and brake. Next pair will be better.

I wear it all if I ride, thinking about getting knee braces (just pads now) and maybe elbow pads.

Surprising how much these things wear you out, I think I get more cardio on the bike than in the gym.

My car is that color. We'd look good together in traffic! :)

I'm jealous.  Dirt bikes are just flat out fun.

And you can never have too much gear:) Pile it on. Once you get on the bike you wont even notice.

Congrats on great purchase:) Enjoy.

Oh Dear! Bucky is accessorizing her car. Is this the beginning of the end?

How far are you from the dirt trails?  I have a friend who lives in Dayton Nevada and he could literally take off from his house and ride into the desert.
