I may have the first stages of cancer...

Just had a biopsy on my outer lip and they said it was PRE-cancerous.  After reading online for a few minutes I decided to look at the inside of my mouth and found a blister on the INSIDE of my mouth, on the other side of the biopsy area, neither I nor the Dr knew about.

I going to go up to John's Hopkins and have then take a look and see what they think can be done.  Anyway, I'm sure you all wish me well, so no need to do so here.  Maybe it's not so bad. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Keep the faith:)

They could be completely unrelated to each other.  Melanoma would travel from the outside of your skin down, it sounds like if anything this would be a reverse of that.  The probably odds are pretty good that you don't have mouth cancer.

The sub-tropics are tough on us caucasians, you are probably going to have to wear a big hat from here on out.  Anyway, stay positive, what ever it is, it sounds like you caught it in the early stages.

That sucks. I certainly hope it turns out that you're wrong.

I guess some life changes are long over due:)

Damn, sorry to hear that Rob. I hope they're wrong and it's just the flu or something.

If this does turn out to be cancer, there are ways to combat it with diet. It is what Amy has been doing.

Look up the Gerson Diet.

Brad

You are doing the right thing in getting it checked out right away.  I hope it turns out to be nothing.

My family has a history of skin cancer.  (Not melanoma, thank God)...It means you go to the dermatologist every 6 months and have whatever burned off your nose or ears.  They might take a picture of your skin so they can compare and see if your moles get bigger.

Probably not a big deal.  You'll be OK.  And, if it is something more, you caught it early...

Thanks, folks. Like I said though, before I snipped it out, this is just the effects of my past choices, so I don't really think sympathy has a welcome place at this table, but it's appreciated:)

Thanks to an inside connection, I just got an appointment with Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center @ Johns Hopkins.  Nice to see my connections get me into something besides a night club once in a while:)  I'm looking at using it as an excuse to get a uhaul and move some up my stuff up North.  I'll pack my bike, so I have a vehicle up there and drive it back here via the Smokeys.

Yeah, what studies I've seen are extremely positive.  I'll make up a batch of that tincture tomorrow.

>Probably not a big deal
For now, since there is little I can do, I'll agree.  However, this is one of those things that can spread to lymph nodes and travel and you don't notice it until it's everywhere.

Sorry hear it DB.

Fingers crossed its not what you are worrying about.

Thanks, guys.

So I flew up to John's Hopkins and got an exam. Nose and throat are OK, but looks like my outer lip is a little sketchy so it's another biopsy and some lip cream from hell, and we go from there.

So... so far, so good.

*hug* You'll be OK.  This is just a bump in the road.
