...it's what's for dinner:

...good times with an old friend and my girl yesterday, about 9 miles off Sarasota's coast.

Awesome. Nasty bugger, eh?

dogboy

...nah, it's a surprisingly mild, flakey fish that is very good blackened or grilled:)

Rumbas

Haha, sure, was the teeth I was referring to :)

Somoene told me years ago that swimming with barracuda was a spooky experience...because they WATCHED you.  And waited until you weren't looking to try to take a bite.

They absolutely watch everything. They just hang there motionless then they explode so fast you can't believe it.  But I wouldn't worry about anything under 4 feet, but after that, yeah, if I was diving, I wouldn't trust them... or move real quick... or check my watch:)

We have a lot of these guys here.  The little guys hang in the shallower water where they can pick up dinner close by on the shallow reef.

One of my first wreck dives, probably my deepest, farther than I was certified at around 100', I saw one of these.

After checking out the wreck, I went back up the wrong line (wrong end of the wreck), simple mistake, but it was kinda lonely. About the last third, I noticed the guy hanging about 15 feet off, just sitting there staring at me. Since you have to take time ascending, so many feet/minute, it seemed like forever.

He never charged me or anything, but man was it eerie. He was basically motionless and obviously watching me, and me alone. I was glad to get out of the water, and never used the wrong line again.
