I expect that's somewhat of an exaggeration ;-)

besides the fact that it's going to look weird(er) and somewhat buffoonish when he's an old man, no one seems to consider that tattoo image quality degrades quite a bit with age.

The hydrological/piston mechanism doesn't make any sense -- with that large one in the middle, what is that suppose to do?  And then there are just two on the sides, and that's suppose to control the dexterity of five fingers?  Please.

John Waters predicted this twenty years ago - he said all those tats that look so cool at 25 aren't going to look so cool at 65 and there would be big money to be made in tat removal.

Some of this is driven by more than pure vanity BTW. A friend of mine who was in gangs and had his gang tats got into a program where they took kids rock climbing. He ended up with the beautiful Jo Whitford -- http://www.gregepperson.com/search.php?clearSearch=true&searchPhrase=jo%20whitford -- who told him he should get out of the gangs and she would hook him up with people who had grant money to remove his gang tats. And that was it - he left the gangs, got his tattoos removed, moved to Yosemite and never went back.
