Well, it was good while it lasted.

(Actually, I remit sales tax on the state return.)  This will level the field some for the bricks.

I just looked up one of my first "professional" posts telling new, wet webslingers that sales tax collection was coming for sure --sooner, rather than later. Date of post was June 2000.  Debbie was off by *only* a decade, hhh.

My understanding for SC is the state was pushing them for collecting, and when they threatened to pull the plug on the new fulfillment center here, the issue disappeared.

Texas did the same, I think.

But remember that NC Rev took them to court and -according to the judge- would likely win if they took it to court again AND dropped the request to $$ only and didn't get to look at what products were delivered --essentially, it was a privacy issue.

Keep in mind that NC is now supposedly the 9th-largest state in population. It appears that AMZ wants to deal themselves in over here and just tossed in sales tax (inevitable anyway) to sweeten the pot.

I'll bet Tiff is dyslexic. I'll bet Amazon is going to pay North Carolina's tax.

Brad

I know I don't order quite as much stuff from Amazon since they started charging sales tax.
