I ddn't post because it's mainstream news, but G just tossed some ext out of chrome for inserting ads.  I'll stick it here just in case a core member is under a rock ...or in Japan.

I have added ghostery on my browsers these day. Amazing that a "news site" ads like 40 ads / tracking items on each page view.

After using Ghostery for about a year I found it was starting to interfere with a lot of sites. I switched from Ghostery to Disconnect and things cleared up quite a bit. However, that's all cookie tracking related.

However, these more nefarious extensions are injecting ads into sites and possibly sending other private data back to their developers.
