Has anyone tried any of these floor cleaning robots: hard floors or carpet?  What did you think?

It's a GREAT bot.  It can stand significant abuse.  Once the initial heavy cleaning is done, twice a week seems to keep things in order.  I only empty it about every 3rd time and rarely clean the beaters.  We have relatively new persian rugs and they shed wool lint like crazy for a couple of years, if it weren't for them the filter might go 4 weeks. We never deploy the beacons, either. I make the little fucker find his own way back to the charger. Like I said, it'll stand abuse.

I'm on a binge to make our lives into a model of 21st century easiness/convenience (as depicted in 1950s sci-fi).  It's working.  Home cooking was the biggest challenge and --short of a Star Trek Replicator-- I'm getting damn close.  Meals are almost incidental prep now.  Better than restaurant quality, too.

hhh, JC.  You prefer boats, cars, trucks, motorhomes? I have several in each category.  I used to have a plane, too, but that was a PITA ...I wouldn't recommend that.

I have the scooba for tile washing. Slight nuisance to set up for a job but it works as billed.

Seriously, risk $36 on that rice pot and follow along. Today I'm having Teriyaki/Ginger/Sesame Pork with a whiff of wasabi over brown rice pasta.  Took 5 minutes.

Correction: Shitake mushroom/Ginger/Sesame

Tips for the bot:  put a pushpin into the baseboard on each side of the docking base.  When the charging contacts get worn/dusty the bot will wiggle from side-to-side slightly to try and make the connection.  It helps to keep the dock steady.

The design is modular --at least what I've seen of it. One of the whiligig baseboard duster motors quit after 18 months or so and a battery needed replacing.  Common maintenance parts (some better than OEM) are on Amazon at a cheaper delivered price.

The 650 is still wandering around FedEx Land, but ought to be here Real Soon Now.

However, I won a Dirt Dog on eBay for use on the unfinished basement. It will probably need a new battery but as RC says those are available on Amazon.  The basement is a pain to sweep or vaccum so the Dirt Dog can have the job.

I'm looking at the Scoobas or the Braavas for wet cleaning the linoleum kitchen floor.

Now, somebody needs to invent:

1. A stair cleaning robot

2. A shower cleaning robot.
