OK, granted, I don't watch a lot of youtube, but when the hell did they start charging for videos?

I think about a year ago?  I remember seeing another AB video that was pay-only.  
Glad to see it hasn't gotten traction, and I hope it won't.

It might get traction, but only as a means to provide content that people pay for elsewhere. Amazon Prime, Hulu, Net Flix are all pay to play and they're doing okay. But not as a means of distributing garbage.
