Still reason #8 Search sounds interesting.  Plus I like the fact that OS updates will come direct from Ubuntu not from the ISP.

Challenge: cloud integration.

Weren't they going to limit those phones to developing markets at first?

I'm not clear on that.  It sounds like at least one of these companies will release an unlocked phone in the US in 2014, then the bigger phone makers will kick in with carrier locked phones in 2015.
