These published videos make me sick!

It got me thinking what would I do if I knew they were about to behead me.

My last statement would be:
"FUCK YOU RAGHEADS, you all belong in HELL"

You know, it's odd, but we 1st-world countries can put up with atrocities on a massive scale but react violently to 'personalized' or individual events.  The US and Western EU are being poked in the ribs with a stick by these beheadings and we're going to overreact.

That said, we haven't yet won against guerrilla tactics and I doubt we will this time, either.

I'm generally not kind in my opinion of the effectiveness of air power alone in fighting ground troops, but our use of air power at least keeps IS forces from concentrating for large scale attacks leaving Iraqis and Kurds to face only smaller enemy units.

>>baited

Yes I think we are. Iraq is going to have to fight this on their own on the ground.  They have lavish amounts of equipment and a very large army so they can get to it.

Pity we did not arm the Kurds.

The cynic in me, based on Cameron's speech this morning takes me back to Maggie Thatcher in '82.

She was low in the polls and the Argentinian war, although justified, could have been handled differently. It won her the next election.

There is a referendum in a few days and a General Election next year.... just saying...

It's ripe for grandstanding on ALL sides.

Isn't it Stalin who said "One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic."
