Confused about how the FTC's disclosure guidelines affect affiliate marketers and merchants?

The Federal Trade Commission disclosure laws are increasingly becoming a point of frustration and confusion for affiliates, bloggers and merchants across the United States.

I've looked into this a fair bit.

It's not that complicated except that everyone wants to get around it. The biggest compliance issues are on social media channels where "digital influencers" rarely fully disclose. Basically, the FTC needs to come down hard on a few and then it will become more clear.

Speaking from the perspective of someone engaging said digitial influencers in the travel space, the entire travel space is a cesspool. There are very few articles, reviews or social media posts that have NOT received some consideration and yet only a small minority mention it. It's really gotten awful

Hey! You're talking about my old neighborhood. (Loved the comps!) Yup, 'cesspool' would be a charitable description, imo.   But not just in the online world, the "Hospitality Industry" -as it likes to call itself- reeks out in the bricks, too.

Hey! You're talking about my old neighborhood.

Mine too, and I completely agree.  So much unoriginal, sponsored content.
