We're told the future doesn't need us. With the rise of technology, humans will have to be very clever - and very careful - not to be left behind, because human labor is rapidly losing its value.

Added to the watchlist. Thanks

Now please add something to my watchlist that has nothing to do with Trump, rise of the robots, or climate change. I need something happy!

A good happy show/film is hard.  How about funny?
I find Silicon Valley entertaining.  If you really want happy, you could watch Zootopia, it is like a District 9, but the happy and light version.

I was kind of kidding, but Zootopia looks like something Theresa would want to queue up (big fan of animation).

Yeah, I knew you weren't being fully serious...but Zootopia really is really a very  smart and funny cartoon with a lot of social commentary bake in.  It actually does remind me of District 9 in some ways -- like another alternative universe, that examines human nature, but less bleak.

BTW, if you want to watch a very funny movie I recommend What We Do in the Shadows.

Almost watched Zootopia last night. It lost a coin toss.

But I wasn't being totally unserious... too much time reading news lately and it's mostly the dame damn news.

I got most of the way through Obsolete before getting interrupted. Haven't quite finished, but it's an interesting perspective on UBI which made me wonder who is behind it. Other than the one central message that they get to really early on (Universal Basic Income = slavery), they don't seem to have an argument they are developing. It's more a lot of clips of Aldous Huxley and circling back to the same thing.

It's an interesting point - at the endpoint, we could see robot armies that do everything necessary to keep the infrastructure afloat and humans who live by government check, which is not a very resilient society in the very long run. But in the short run, what's their solution to income inequality and all that?

So I went to their website and quickly stumbled on an article that alleges that a group of physicians have found a compound that causes cancer, diabetes, autism and other diseases (nagalese) and a compound that counteracts it (GcMAG). Twelve of these doctors so far this year have been murdered by the drug companies because cancer treatment is a $125 billion industry and they are afraid of this miracle cure seeing the light of day.

But the bombshell is that the major source of nagalese is drug companies adding it to vaccines to make us all sick, perpetuate their business model and control the population.

Seems reasonable.

Littleman - thank you for the Zootopia recommendation. I love animation, but it often gets an arched eyebrow from some other members of my family (ahem), so it was a treat to have it proposed. It's downloading, and I'm looking forward to watching soon.

You're Welcome.  If you want the other side of the spectrum I recommend Grave of the Fireflies -- an excellent story, but not happy.
