We need to do a global sync of all the celebratory holidays.

At least administrative New Year's now happens on the same day pretty much everywhere (not counting the lunar new year). That's the biggie.

Back in the period I study, the year changed over anytime between Christmas and Easter depending on the region you were in. In France and other places that used Easter dating, it was super complex - you could have two April 2nds in a given year (for example).
