The amorphous solar cells are getting better too, still only at 12.5% efficiency but cheaper to make, work with thin-film flexible cells etc.
Probably a good future investment.

Researchers have created a new type of solar glass that changes from clear to tinted as it heats up and produces electricity. A paper in Nature Communications describing the work claims a solar power conversion efficiency of 11.3%.

Ten years ago I'd never thought that we would live in a world where we'll never hit peak oil and that there is a real likelihood that fossil fuels will remain in the ground.

From this website it seems like they are big on wind and hydro, but not really solar.  Too bad they put so much effort into gas power.
