It doesn't say what people are using instead.  Did Chromebooks take a chunk out of tablets?  Or are people JUST using their phones?

Yes.  Particularly younger audience.  Note that phone screen size have trended up bezels down, not quite phablets --but almost.

Yes, particularly in the educational market.  My daughter's charter school requires & distributes chromebooks for all students. BTW, we lose track of it here because it's not our market, but G is *massively* promoting free services for educational institutions and chromebook is interwoven with that.

I use the tablets (plural) that I already own and they serve me just fine.

Barring accident or theft, it will likely be a while before I feel the need for a new tablet.

You can't have infinite growth in a finite market.
