So tempted to say something like this on the almost daily "moving to gvl! random question" posts on our local subreddit.

Surprised to see how low California is on that list. I assume that's because of Prop 13 keeping down property taxes.... cause everything else here is expensive. But even with Prop 13, property tax isn't that low because of home values.

Prop 13 allows people to inherit the tax rate from their parents if they buy or inherit a house from them.  Also, as of last year, someone 55 or over can rollover their property tax rate into another home if they sell the previous.

Yeah, send them to Asheville. Another NC city that is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
