Your right to call it out.  I quite liked it too, as Winnie is getting some bad press over here recently.

That would be a disastrous decision. Head Nitpicker or Ranter in Chief would be a better fit for my talents.

Thanks for the pep-talk Rupert.

QuoteThanks for the pep-talk Rupert.

The mate who wrote that for me, is in a very difficult place. I mean really hard, on many different levels. And has been for over 4 years now.  His is an unbelievable story.

I was so impressed that he can still see some blue sky, when there are times at present when I cannot.  I think it was more a pep talk for me than for you, but if it helped you, then I will tell him, as it will make his month to think that he was able to lift the spirits of someone in a small way.

Meanwhile I drop this link: https://darwinawards.com/ has it been listed on this thread? If not I dont see any hard in putting it in again.

Honoring Charles Darwin, the father of evolution, Darwin Awards commemorate those who improve our gene pool--by removing themselves from it in the most spectacular way possible.

White House halts mandatory temperature checks, symptom screening

Quote
The White House has stopped conducting mandatory temperature checks for all staffers and visitors entering the grounds, removing another layer of safeguards put in place after two officials became ill with the coronavirus last month.

While those who come in close contact with the president and vice president are still having their temperature checked and being questioned about symptoms, the steps are no longer being taken for others who enter the White House campus, said spokesman Judd Deere. Tents that had been manned for the past month by staffers with thermometers were being taken down on Monday.

The UK gov should get the award.

Health leaders "Prepare for a second wave"

Gov "The pubs will be open on July 4th"

It's not even funny.

Has it come to that, that looking across the pond, Brits now celebrate the day they shed themselves of the American colonies?

It will be an interesting month seeing what happens to everyone who does go to pubs and the like so soon.

Yes, odd that it's July 4th, UK and US have been cosying up for years it's obviously another tactic to make us all feel chummy ;+}

Blimey.

'"We should be wearing masks. We should be social distancing," Crisp said. "It was too soon to open everything back up."

Lynch's general manager said the pub will reopen at 11 a.m. Tuesday.'
