QuoteWhile users with longstanding agreements or contracts with Microsoft, like DuckDuckGo, will reportedly not be immediately affected, the message is clear: stop using the Bing Search APIs and rely on summaries generated by the company's LLMs.

I remember DDG having a really handy API.

So, do you think DDG will go fully independent and stop relying on MD for back fill?  That would be nice!

I think DDG and maybe Yahoo, who both use Bing, are watching the Google search antitrust trial trying to figure out that exact question.  Both have established names which gives them an advantage.

To my way of thinking, you still have to have your own database to be a player on web search.  You have to control the source.

Also, keep an eye on Kagi, which from all reports, has put together a very good meta-search and they may want to build an index.
