It seems Facebook has expanded it's questions function so that in addition to asking your Facebook friends questions, your friends' friends can respond as well. Facebook has also added other new features.

Ran some very lightweight experiments with questions yesterday.  Got really good levels of interaction even from accounts that usually don't get much response.  Will definitely be playing more.
