I loved the idea but as the article points out, it came at a huge price premium and has inferior electronics (string inverters). It wasn't close to cost competitive.

On the other hand, neither is the Powerwall, but that sells well because many of the cheaper alternatives have not made nice with utility companies to qualify for rebates.
