I think there are currently multiple AI factions in government and Anthropic didn't donate enough to one of them.

There has been tacit recognition sooner or later the government would have to regulate AI.  I think every AI CEO has said as much at some point

They're probably still stewing over anthropic saying no to adding Claude to all their weapons
