How do you choose a project?

I have a half-dozen ideas floating in my head -- some simple, some would take a lot of work.  How do you all decide what to do next?

Drastic

Depends on my motivator. If I'm bored or somewhat uninterested, I pick the most exciting. If money is down or I took a hit somewhere, I might pick the lowest hanging fruit. Otherwise I try to springboard off of other successes or just work on what I feel like doing.

Gurtie

go with the one thats calling to you, because if you do one of the others you'll keep thinking about that one anyway :)

What does your busines plan tell you to do?

Plan?  I guess that is obviously what I'm lacking.

Drastic

I like to have a general overall plan, but I don't define a specific set of steps to go through it all in order. Not having to be regimented is part of why I enjoy this work. I'm sure I could get more done going strictly A-B-C but I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much.

I would pick the one that is easiest to set up and monetise and put all the others on the backburner. I think most of us on here have plenty of grand ideas (myself included!) but what separates the haves from the have-nots is putting ideas into action.

The lowest-hanging fruit that has some sort of spark to it.

Honestly, I take a project where I know I will learn something new.  Sometimes I have to take stuff just for coin, but I love learning new things...

what Drastic said - couldn't have put it better

I do the one that will give me the lowest return for the maximum grief.

Not sure that was ever the plan, but looking back on the last few it certainly seems to have been the case.

Rumbas

We take on the ones that we expect to give us the highest return. Usually we start by raw commission and go from there. High pay-outs and high competition where we have more than one merchant to work with. We almost never ever run with a program that is unique and only have one merchant.

Being able to do comparison and evaluation of each product seems to perform the best.

Interest and motivation is key. It's so damn hard to promote stuff you dont believe in or dont have an interest in.

I'm with Rooftop.

When b###hing to a friend about it he came with the perfect reply...   If you can't shag it why would you take so much grief from it?

Ooooh..  B itching is not allowed but shag is?
