It has a remote control so I can turn it on at the more interesting sections. The fish eye lens helps to make things look a little more spectacular

I should use some different camera positons to make more interesting movies but I didn't have time that day.

Wow, looks like a lovely area to ride in.  I'd love to visit Germany.  I think I'll add it to my list for when I have a bigger bike.

The Harz is a great area for riding fast bends. Wide roads and good tarmac. Only a few speed cameras and they all shoot from the front   
And you get to ride the German highway going there (which does not have any speed limits).
My bike has only 50hp but it's definitely an area where you can use more power if you have it. One friend was driving an 150hp MV Agusta and we only saw him at the junctions where he would wait for the rest.

Question for you: how do your tires feel in the corners, on the pavement? I assume you are using a multipurpose tire and didn't swap them for your trip but I guess you could being an amature porn star and all;)

Sometimes if my tires get low and I'm aggressively cornering, I can feel them squish a little under me. Is it the same on your tires?

And on the flipside, when you are in dirt, are they enough? I mean, you can't ask a tire to do much more than you are except maybe add ice and mud.

Beautiful riding country for sure. Florida is definitely great for riding year round but the riding itself kinda sucks unless you are just cruising or going Mach1. It's flat and straight. I miss the mountains in california or PA.

Both trips were on the same 50/50 tires. Cheapies, K60 from Heidenau.

Traction is fine in the bends on pavement with dry weather. It took getting used to at first as there is a little movement sometimes indeed. It's a good warning system after getting used to it. The outer knobs are most worn on the inner side. What seems to happen in sharp bends is the most outward rows of knobs bending more then the tire.. making the bike ride on the inner side of the outer knobs.

In the dirt I think they are fine but I do not have experience with other tires there. In 5-10 cm of mud they seemed to do fine as well.

The worst thing is the wear on the main thread after highway stretches.. it looks like I will be lucky to get 5000 km out of these tires.
Also it makes more noise then street tires.

I heard the tire noise, which is why I asked, and one of the curves made me wonder if might even drag a knee, which was why I was wondering about the cornering stability.  I haven't riden a dirt bike since I wrecked and broke my leg in 3 places back when I was 18, and never rode it on the road except just get to more dirt.

As far as 'flat tops' (or whatever you call them) from riding on the straight roads around here, along with power and sand, about 7000 miles is all I got on my first set...

Impressive start to the season by Coventry's Cal Crutchlow. Top 12 positions in his first three MotoGP races, on tracks he's never ridden before. I probably said the same about James Toseland a couple of years ago though, and that didn't work out too well...

How about Simonchelli? They talked him up early but then he actually came out of nowhere to the forefront. Granted he's wiping out all over the place but if he doesn't kill himself, he is going to be amazing.  Just needs 1.) to try and finish some races before he tries to win one, and, 2.) a haircut:)

No, he should keep the Hair Bear Bunch look. It'd be cool if he joins the long line of 'bin it or win it riders' like Gardner and Schwantz. They managed to tame Norick Abe (and got him to cut his hair!) and he was never quite as much fun to watch as he was earlier in his career.

well, then, I hope he starts winning:)  I think he's my new favorite now, actually.

I also like that crazy dude in Moto2 that wiped out near the end... Andre (another Italian name) wearing day-glow yellow and black.  Just throwing himself into harms way.  Fun to watch:)
