The Android might be good, but you can't get stuff like this yet: StunPhone http://www.stunfone.com/

I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible. But, pissing everyone off is a piece of cake!

Read this the other day : http://www.reghardware.com/2010/11/10/replacing_the_iphone/

It is pretty much what I have been thinking for a while now.
(NB. for all you sensitive fanbois - before you 'have an eppy', search and replace 'iPhone' with 'Android phone' - same logic applies)

I know the drive is to have one device that does everything, but it stops making sense at some point.

I want a phone that works really well as a phone, fits in a matchbox, and has a battery life of 2 weeks.
I want a pad that has reasonable size screen AND is small enough to fit in my girly manbag.
I want a camera that actually does a decent job.

... but I need to be able to have them all with me at once without lugging a suitcase around with me.

For me, that will probably end up being good small 'non-smart' phone, 7" to 8" tablet, and the best of the titchy 12meg cameras.

Of course, mainstream will always be the 'one device' compromise - but it isn't the only choice, and the 'alternative' choices will start to look better as more portable tablets are introduced.
