BTW you read this?

"In a private report to clients, the Gartner research firm is urging CEOs to clear any obstacles preventing IT departments from taking advantage of the iPad."

I like Apple:

For my sons Birthday we bought him an iPod, my daughter had an iPhone for hers and for my Birthday I was pleased to receive an iPad.

Thinking along the same lines I got my wife an iRon - and then the fight started.

Thet did a good job on the iPhone but i agree they did a shitty job on the iPad.

Given the size of the iPad they should have been able to give it more cpu and functionality in general. It's pretty but that's it.

I wanted to update my iphone with a new one (I love how easy it is to use...I don't read user manuals to "get" the blackberry or other phones), but the new ones are so heavy.

I will say the new MacBook Airs are *really* impressive.  They have a start up time of like 3 seconds.  The rep was showing me how you could start all the programs at once and they are all up and running in like 5 seconds.  SUPER fast, but very little hard drive space.

I really hadn't noticed the new phone being heavy. Does it weigh much more than the old ones? I think it's well worth it, if so.

I'm on my 3rd 3G iPhone. They keep breaking. I love my Apple Care. I can't wait until my current contract runs out so I can get a decent (recent) one.

Love the iPhone, hate hate hate their iTunes POS.

Yes, yes, yes. The "for your own good" lockdown system sucks. That's the big thing I miss about Palm.

Lucky you. There's no more 3GS stock in Japan. You can only get 4G units now. The carrier here won't let you use unlocked phones from outside their plan. They can detect them and over-charge you for data. It's quite prohibitive.

Docs' offices here have been using those (or similar) for a few years.  No paperwork, its all on the tablet.

I also have an old iPhone 3G.  Steve Jobs definitely gimped the old phone performance with the 4.Xios.  Mostly intentional, I believe.  I've been waiting to see what Verizon comes out with, and if ATT reacts with lower plan rates.  Trying to hold out, but I admit to having gone to see if the new phones are in stock.  Thus far, they haven't been.

My 3G developed wifi problems after stock warranty was over, so I used it as an excuse to get a 3GS, which had no problems with iOS 4... but then I went to New York for a few weeks, and picked up an iPhone 4 at the flagship store after checking out a friend's out there. It's the single best upgrade since the 3G when they introduced GPS.

However, the first one I got was fucked. Couldn't keep a phone call connected to save my life. Happily I realized the problem before I left NY, and went back to exchange it. No hassle whatsoever, very nice customer service.
