I confess. I use this fairly frequently.  It's not really something Lynsky taught me, but developed on my own ....probably from seeing "these aren't the droids you're looking for." hhh

In short, you just tell people what they said --whether they said it or not.  Obviously, it works best on nebulous concepts or ideas.

You ever sit in on a timeshare presentation? Jenn and I sat through one a long time ago to get some tickets to Disneyland.  I was wondering how they could afford to give them away, then I witnessed about a third of the room was sold the pitch by the time we were isolated from the group.

*Almost* did at DisneyWorld for their -then new- condos being built on piers out in the lake.  But I could feel my wallet quivering and KNEW these guys would be top-notch.

I am kind of scared to go to one of those meetings. They are great at what they do and I would be scared I would sign up.

You have reminded me about how shite April fools stuff is online. Not clever or funny these days.

Wait until deepfakes-generated content start to kick in.

The one who did our presentation was dumb as a stone. I asked about "opportunity costs" of that money and she had no idea what I was talking about. Several other QA exchanges went that way.

Any distant enough examples you can share?

Somewhat related, I recently read a book on body language by and ex FBI examiner. Pretty interesting stuff on signals people send whether they know it and try to repress them or not.
