> mask wearing however when people are just out and about.

Cyprus have just introduced compulsory wearing of masks when outdoors, except when exercising.

Expect an increase in Lycra sales and slightly quicker walking.

That makes no sense to me, because the virus would be more likely to spread from the heavy breathing of exercise.

Across the border in Idaho the hospital is at 99% capacity, they just moved back to "red" which is their version of bad, and of course yesterday they just lifted the mask mandate. I just don't understand.

Which states got it right and how/why

QuoteThe odds could have been stacked against the state. The virus arrived in Vermont during the first wave sweeping the country. It shares borders with some of the hardest-hit states and has the third-oldest population in the country.... If the country as a whole had the same per capita death rate as Vermont, the nationwide death toll would be 30,000 instead of more than 215,000.

President-Elect Biden Has A Plan To Combat COVID-19. Here's What's In It

QuoteBiden says he'd use the Defense Production Act to increase production of masks, face shields and other personal protective equipment so that supply exceeds demand.

This should have been done 6 months ago.  Good 6 point plan.

I think it's the demand side that needs work. I believe this was posted here already:

Since the election, I've heard of an uptick in people being aggressed due to wearing masks.

Now the question is, will mask orders from a Republican governor attenuate the polemics around masks or split the party in Utah.

rcjordan

>attenuate the polemics around masks or split the party

Debbie says that there won't be much change unless the deaths & serious, debilitating cases get to 1 in 20-ish.   Otherwise, denial reigns.

OR

The governor puts some bite into the enforcement with fines and jail time, then it'll hurt the party.
