Microsoft has warned some Bing-powered search engines that it will revoke access to the company's search index if they continue to use it as the foundation for their AI tools, according to Bloomberg.

I'd imagine crawling itself is relatively small cost wise compared to than the data processing required to create a good AI.  I guess the real thing Google and Bing could give is access where other bots will be denied.
