A little fun...

Now that anyone with a good story (and $185K) can get a .anything GTLD; what would you go for?

I think it'll be confusing for most users so I'll start with a really bad pun rather than a real one:

.cotton

.cotton = .brannon?

.local .. crazy i know but potential if you cover a large area.

I'm big on the idea of getting local services online with micropayments (via mobile), how handy would that be... i.e. taxi.local

Big brand potential if you control the TLD

.cotton is a pun on a character from a uk tv soap opera, I thought most people here are UK based.

.local is what i would go for as local search is my business but i dont have the cash to promote it.

yep i got it ... unfortunately i also know shes married in the show... dot is a legend.

.product or .code maybe would be another couple of good ones. restrict them to product numbers / QR codes and make them the 'definitive' place to find them.

I'll have .apple, .dell. .ibm and .google, thanks

I don't think many content specific tld's would be worth having unless you had a lot of money and a great promotion idea.

.bank would be cool if you could make it an industry standard - I don't think I have the contacts for that though

perhaps.online as a huge personal portal - let people register eg; gurtie.online and then use it as a social media, bookmarking and general online repositary. Portable facebook. Except wasn't that Diaspora?

eurotrash

There are lots of people who would qualify for .twat - maybe a gift-giving exercise.
