There is an almost unlimited well of people posting kitty pics plus grannies wanting to see pics of the grandspawn they won't notice the lack of teens for a long time.

The old folks won't move, it took us three years to figure out how to navigate FB and we'll be damned if we are learning anything newfangled.

The headline, that fade line, and the one about only-so-many-keystrokes-in-a-day was what made me credit this article as at least somewhat realistic. Most are portraying it as a harbinger of doom.

"If kids are starting to use so much of their daily time on messaging apps, surely it's going to hurt somebody."

I've been predicting a generational shift away from Google as a search engine for a long time. But that is predicated on there being a viable and hip alternative to the G, something that has not happened. This is confirmed in the article that there are other new and hip alternatives to FB and the kids are using them.
