'As for 2015, the Wall Street Journal has reported that Google Play had 70% more app downloads than Apple's App Store in the first quarter of 2015, but Apple's app revenue was about 70% higher than on Google Play. The WSJ report is based on numbers from the App Annie Index: Market Q1 2015. The WSJ goes on to say that, "Google Play had 70% more app downloads than Apple, bolstered by demand in emerging markets such as Mexico, Turkey, Brazil and Indonesia. By comparison, Google's lead in the third quarter last year was 60%."'

Well yeah, you have to download 7 just to find one that isn't sh*t, and then later another three just because you still are not convinced that there might be a better Android app for the job out there. Android descriptions are terrible, you don't know what you are getting or what it will do.

9 times out of 10 you find the official app in iOS and stick with it because it rocks, although it's less democratic.  :)

I know that Brad will never agree that anything associated with Google isn't shite, but the above doesn't reflect what happens in our house.  Both markets are full of crap.  With android it is often badly made crap.  With ios it is just polished crap.

I'd say exactly that about the Apple app store.  Play has video previews on most apps, which is a huge advantage.  I don't see much difference in descriptions.  Most importantly you can get a refund if you buy shite, which doesn't seem to be the case on play.    Even if the kids want somethign for the ipad I'll encourage them to try it on the android tablet first because then we DO know what we're getting.
