GWT Giving old warnings.

Outdated sitemap.xml warnings on three sites today referring to URLs that aren't in the sitemap.xml and have been dead for months.

Are G database entropy spikes common, i only have <2 years of data ?

I have often seen old data in WMT. 

Had 10,000's of old links one one site.  They  cleared eventually.  so I would not worry.
