Wait, what's the bitcoin tie-in and what are people falling for?

No need to even read it, the domain and sector says it's bollocks.

From the mirror report on this:

QuoteA survey carried out by cloud distributer intY has revealed that 36% of Brits believe 'cryptocurrency' relates to funeral finance.

The survey involved 2,000 members of the British public who were asked a set of 20 questions relating to computing and technology.

And when asked "What is the blockchain?", 41 per cent answered that it was another name for an old-fashioned toilet pull flush.

Priceless.

Priceless.

Not just for the humor, but as a reminder of how robust my filter bubble is. I would have expected some people to think that (funeral financing, toilet pull chain), but not in THOSE numbers.

It reminds me of the time someone told me that he was 100% certain that GW Bush would lose the 2004 election (and I thought he would win). "Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Because nobody I know is voting for him."

Now I feel like him. "But everybody *I* know knows what cryptocurrency is!" And that statement is most assuredly wrong.

You have to ask where have they been.... its been in the news over here.  :'(

so perhaps the survey was Brits in prison, or some other group detached from society for some reason.....

got it, the survey was in old people homes !!!!  :P
