Helldivers. WTH?

Over the years, I have seen a lot of gamer threads come & go on reddit/all (which I do not filter). Usually, one will make the 1st page a few rare-ish times.  But Helldivers has been making the page every damn day for a month now. 

Must be good.  Or has reddit tweaked the rankings?

Helldivers 2 is definitely popular. It was released in Feb. and had it's highest concurrent player count 2 months ago (458k). Still has 100k+ concurrent players. It is loosely based on the Starship Troopers movies, I believe.

You been following it on reddit?  Players are changing their rating en masse, now down to 6. The HD2 CEO has posted an apology but no change of course.   Now other media are picking up the story.

Last night a friend in his late 20's asked me if I had been following the Helldivers story. It seems to be everywhere at the moment.

good read.  Nothing I love better than watching someone getting their a## kicked up between their shoulder blades.  Sony may end up keeping their PSN requirement but the gaming communities -and Steam- are really organizing a stinging defense.
