This thread is inspired by RC's Armageddon Flatbread recipe:
http://th3core.com/talk/water-coolerextra/rc's-armageddon-flatbread/msg66366/I thought it might be useful to create a thread for recipes that make use of staple supplies that many of us have stocked up on.
I'll start with one of my grandmother's recipes.

SCOTCH OATCAKES
Fun for kids to make!
3 cups rolled oats
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups shortening
1/4 - 1/2 cup water
Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening until crumbly. Add water and mix well to make a stiff dough. Roll dough flat, cut into squares or shapes, place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F until golden; 15-18 minutes.
Yummy!
