It will be a rough summer for the SE.  I'm glad to be in the boring Midwest although our storms are getting more extreme.

No warm and fuzzy, we're going straight to loot and pillage stage.

>relocation

My take: even if we do everything proactively to relocate New Orleans in time it won't be "New Orleans". It will be a bunch of fast food crap, prefabs and double wides and brutalist slabs all with negative -11 charm that no tourist or resident will want to see.  All the things that made NOLA a destination will be gone.

Although, I guess we could put up a Disney version with fake facades with no soul somewhere.

'Point of no return': New Orleans relocation must start now due to sea level, study finds

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/may/04/new-orleans-sea-levels-relocation-climate-crisis

Quote"Even if you stopped climate change today, New Orleans's days are still numbered," he added. "It will be surrounded by open water, and you can't keep an island situated below sea level afloat. There's no amount of money that can do that."

>design aesthetic

Yeah this is my bread and butter at least with Neocities sites.

RSS certainly is not dead, but it takes a long term commitment to publish regularly and have something to say.

Google traffic is nice but a lot of it is junk traffic.

I guess my point is, if you are blogging it is worth it to publish both a RSS feed and a newsletter if you have the option.

>apps

I try to keep apps to a minimum on my phone and use the browser for almost everything, because the apps have a lot of tracking stuff in them, plus they take up space.

MSN news mobile started freezing me out and telling me I needed the app, so I just quit using MSN. They are not that special.

Yeah, I fall in the mustard camp.

I'm seeing a few more reaction videos on YouTube algo, so it's getting repeats and they seem favorable.  One American reactor's thumbnail said "The Real King..."

Traffic / Re: Yahoo Slurp Crawling Again?

Thanks LM, that tells me a lot, like the bulk of Y's index still comes from Bing.

It's interesting because Bing does not allow mixing of their search results with other indexes for smaller engines, but Yahoo was able to negotiate an exception.  In any event is is good to see Y crawling again even in a small way.
