I've been back on win for 3 years now after 5+ years on linux.  While I was mostly just using a browser I could have used just about any OS, but as I moved back into data-handling, programming, & de-enshitifying some of the best software was win only.

Getting away from windows except on media/sim pcs. I cannot believe win still has 2-3 different interfaces cobbled together. Mac is a much smoother and easier experience these days and that's what most want at the office.

On my simrig, I just upgraded to an AMD cpu, for the first time ever. Intel has really dropped the ball on innovation in chip tech the last several years.

It was my mother's favorite movie, at least for part of her life. She was 52 when it came out but I think much older when she saw it for the first time.

She said that she was always looking for that feeling of freedom that characterizes Ferris' day off and just watching the movie made her feel free

RC:
Just the bulleted points --Siri is 'ice cold'
This article is getting LOTS of press.

Apple's new Siri AI knows when to shut up

My Gemini current preferences are tuned to be business-like & succinct. Then again, I'm only doing code and research, no personal engagement.  Read this article and make any further adjustments to your responses but without being terse or 'clipped'.

Gem:
**Core Shift:** The article details how Apple's newly overhauled "Siri AI" intentionally scales back unnecessary chattiness and conversational filler, focusing strictly on functional utility without trying to mimic a human personality.

**Contextual Awareness:** The assistant leverages on-screen awareness and cross-app integration to track tasks in the background, minimizing the need for constant verbal back-and-forth prompts.

**Refined Delivery Tone:** Understood. Responses will remain completely streamlined, business-like, and highly functional for code and research tasks, but calibrated to be direct and smooth rather than abrupt or blunt.

I have Gem almost trained to be ice cold. Then again, I'm only doing code and research, no personal engagement.  I'll have it read this article.
