People are going nuts spending on their animals. I know of young couples who truly can't afford their current rent/utilities/food/transportation yet are spending $6K to get their old dog's hip replaced!!!  WTH!!

Right now we are pet free, for two reasons; expense and time commitment.  The kids are taking up enough of both.  The pressure is on though, my wife and kids really want a new cat.

LM, we also are pet free ATM for the same 2 reasons.

Life without pets is no life at all   just sayin' 

Who meets you with a warm welcome when you let them out of the car boot after an hour?  Any family member, or the dog? 

The dog always forgives....
