Vietnam overtakes China as largest finished goods exporter to U.S.

I remember thinking that Vietnam was a place in great transition when we were there.  I wonder how much it has already changed on the ground?  NFFC, if you see this it would be interesting to get your take on what's happening there these days.

Rapidly increasing middle class, lots more cars, lots more hi-rise buildings.

More visible in Ho Chi Minh, skyscrapers tend to be in the centre, in Hanoi more spread with the city moving westward at a pace.

It's still Vietnam though.

I think in almost any major city in the world you are a few turns from the modern centre into the "real" world. Maybe the Asian cities require less turns, Hong Kong, Seoul and even Tokyo included.
