I never been to DV, it is a place I've always wanted to go to though.  I'd imagine it was a great time of year to be there.

4/4  We did the last workout today and neither of us were too in the mood for weight training.  We pushed through it though and ended up having a pretty good workout.

Rupert

You folks are doing well.

2/4. a game of tennis no runs.
! do ache all over having spent a day replacing the shed roof. 24 metal sheets to lift up and then screw into place. so thats the second.

Me neither, it's on my bucket list, for sure. In preparation, I spent 20 minutes in the sauna last night and topped out at 131F.  Man! I can sure feel the stress on my body at that temp just sitting there. I can't imagine having to walk around in that heat.

5/4 - 4x vball league nights, rode dirt for the first time this year sat. Still sore.

Rupert, that's a workout for sure -- sounds like something RC would be doing.

>175,

Nicely done.  Back to pre-VN weight.

>bucket list

Do you want to experience the heat?  If you avoid the Summer months it isn't the scorcher it is famous for.

Dras, can you just get on your bike and start riding from your house?  I had a friend who lived in Nevada and that is what it was like for him.  He could just ride right into the desert.
(you may have answered this before for me?)

Drastic

I wish I could. It's about a 45 min haul where we usually ride. Next house will have some type of track, trails or both.

>>I never been to DV

It was *never* a place I wanted to go and in fact disliked the first two days I was there (two years ago). Then we got *slightly* off the beaten track and it was love at third sight. I wanted to stay for a month... and was ready to buy a dirt bike. A capable off-road bike would be amazing in DV.

Our first visit was in February and we got snowed on. This visit we varied between a light puffy jacket and hoodie to summer gear. I'd say the hottest was about 85F and the coldest was perhaps just below freezing. At this point I've spent a total of 12 days there, but with 700 miles of dirt roads and a park larger by 20% in land area than Connecticut (not counting the massive areas around it that are just as wild and remote as the park), I've only scratched the surface and feel like I only have the vaguest sense of the place. Still, if you're going, hit me up.

How about the next round goes through Dec 31?

Lots of people make resolutions on January 1 and the round after the next one can be the Core Commit resolution keep round
