My wife is booked in to have a cesarean (she has a low lying placenta so we can't go natural) on Thursday morning to have our first baby - a little girl

Her bag has been packed for a few weeks now - and it's going to be an early start as the c-section is booked for 7:30am

Just taking in the last few days before the big arrival...

Congratulations! It definitely is a big change. We had our first back in December and it is crazy how different life is. But I have loved every minute of it so far. Well, maybe not every minute. But 99% of them.

Congratulations to you and your wife.  Big changes, but for the best.

hungrygoose

Congratulations. Have you picked a name yet?

dogboy

Wow, congrats to both of you!

Here's good wishes that all goes well.

Do something special to mark the last remaining "just the two of you" time.

Lovely news....  hope all goes well.   My wife had a C too. (only the one, but we got the best one :))

It was lovely to be there for me.... just....  well, you will remember it.

Congratulations.  Big Change, :-)

Take reading material and food!  If your hospital is like ours they book everyone in for 7.30. We sat in a small empty room being nervous until afternoon.

Oh, if you can read Danish my wife launches a new membership site in a few days called BabyforBeginners ;-)
Also has a huge babyblog, but you'd need to brush of your Danish skills :)

good luck Craig.  All the best for the 3 of you

We've chosen to call her Aria

Luckily we've gone private so we should be pretty much set for 7:30am - we need to get there for between 4:30 and 5 so we can fill in paper work and get settled etc...

I am at the beach alot at the moment as my photography has really taken off (www.surfers-corner.co.za) - looking forward to summer down here when I take her out and play in the sand  ;D

WOOT! sleepless nights and constant nappy changing ahead. I wouldn't change it for the world!

BTW, do your self a favour and buy one the big newspapers on the day she's born and keep it safe.
My old man gave me a newspaper on my 21st birthday that was dated the same day I was born. It was one of the nicest presents I've had and a very interesting read as well.
Needless to say I've got one for each of my little ones :)

From:  http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Aria.html

QuoteGender:  Girl
Origin:  Hebrew
Meaning:  Lion

Girls in this day and age need strong names.  I applaud your name...

I read about the old Hebrew meaning a while ago, I also found out Aria is also an old Italian/Latin operatic term that roughly means beautiful melody.

Join the two for beautiful lion - not too bad
