Buy a few of these and put 'em around the house in a few spots (I have the older, B&W version)

You may be in for a surprise even if you think you're savvy about humidity in your living space.

Running 2 of these off a single, shared transponder for 3.5 years now.

(Each one came with it's own transponder, I just paired 2 receivers to one of them.)

Seems forward-thinking, but I just don't trust that guy.

I wonder how much that cost Uber?

Hardware & Technology / Teens aren't interested in your big TV

I'd been thinking about this lately, but it goes further than tv viewing. What I'm seeing happening in our household is "device normalization" --where data/media access is being funneled to fewer and fewer devices.   The phablets are a big part of this, I think.

They are commodity items, usually selling on CL for $80-100. It's a little tougher to find those that you can verify that the contents were not hazardous, but still not that hard.  My problem is/was that [a] I want the pattern of the cage grid to be the same (they vary by manufacturer, but some are more standard than others), {b} I need a lot of them, [c] I need them supplied from a few nearby sources (I don't want to spend my life chasing these down 1 or 2 at a time), and [d] I wanted to pay $60 or less for them. These came from a concrete products plant where they use low-grade vegetable oil as a release agent.  Note that they are built to handle approximately a ton of weight each.

>bucket list

Come on, Gurtie.  How about next May just before it gets so damn hot & muggy?  I'll reserve your room.

>stack

Say you wanted to go 2-high, for example.  The first one would be placed on the ground as-is. The integral pallet becomes the 'floor.' For the second layer, the pallet on the bottom is easily removed by undoing a few screws. This leaves a rectangular tube-like cage open at the top & bottom.  Even with the pallet removed, the remaining cage still has a male end that mates with the top of the previous layer.  2-high gives you about 7 feet to the top rail.

I live in the right part of the country for that, but no.

See the metal cage? They stack like legos. I plan to cut them into stackable wall panels for an outbuilding.

The manic side is where I get sh## done, Trav.

Besides, you need a dozen or so of these for your paper towels.  Really, where you live, you have to deal with the VB Gestapo about yard 'construction', drainage, and hardscaping. Using these, you can pull up camp faster than a Gypsy then beg forgiveness.

>next intervention

I was going to call. But then I figured you might stop me.

I need them for palletizing bricks, concrete blocks, car parts, lumber, assorted hoarded junk, etc.  But a bunch of them are destined to become  a removable "beach sidewalk" and anti-erosion mat down on the waterfront.  If you'll recall my post about being scolded by the state's wetlands authority on G earth view re my beach & bulkhead areas, I have considerable issues to address about 'permanent' structures.

>WONDERMENT

But what I **really** want to explore is using them as a deck material under sheds or as a lightweight substitute for plywood roof and/or walls in a modular, semi-portable building.  I already know I can use them as a floor structure for a shed or outbuilding, but I'm thinking larger -MUCH larger. In order to move into in the experimental stage, I need a good supply. It pisses me off to invent something then find out I can't get enough of what I need.

>100 of them a week

I'll probably sign up for another 75, then see what develops. I know I can use that many over time, and they store indefinitely.

I also know a couple of CL resellers, I may set up a deal to wholesale them if the supply proves consistent.

re: my craigslist se (and my dwindling bank account)

So I made a deal for 100 of these. Used, but in fair-to-good shape.

I *think* I can get a steady supply of 100 every 6 weeks or so.

I use the line "My first 4 domains were free.  There was no ICANN, no registrars." to date myself.  You'd be surprised how much this confuses even tech people.  But I spent my first years on domaining and commercial content development, not seo.  I really didn't pay attention to engines until AV started crawling.
